Thailand Holidays 2007

Sonny kept on nagging me to go on a holiday. Since he hasn't been to Thailand, I decided to bring him there and at the same time visited my dear brother Chito. We asked my mom-in-law to go with us since this is also her first time to visit Thailand.

Bangkok has changed a lot since I last visited the place last 2004. They have several high speed trains such as the BTS and MRT. So it's faster and cheaper to go around Bangkok. Moreover, they now have new shopping malls such as Siam Paragon, Central World and my favorite Platinum Fashion Mall which is like our shopping centres in Greenhills but much better and cheaper!

We were there from 13 - 27 October. Kuya Chito was kind enough to allow us to stay in one of his condo units in Sukhumvit 13. The following week we flew to Phuket from 22 - 25 Oct. This is my second time to visit the place. The first one was before the Tsunami. This time it looked better than before. They rose above the disaster and improved the place. It is more tourist friendly.

With our Aussie dollar, we had better spending power to shop, eat delicious Thai food and visit great places. Truly a fun-filled and memorable holiday!

Happy B-day my beloved Sonny!

September is a special month for me. Mainly because it's my hubby's birthday last 1st of September.

As always, close family and friends came by to spend this special time with Sonny. We all look forward to his beautiful Aussie steak barbeque and spaghetti bolognaise. I cooked my own version of Mechado, Carol prepared the chicken macaroni while Girlie made made the cold cut appetizer tray and assorted fruits for dessert.

Enjoy the pics!

GOODBYE JAKEE BOY!

Jake is our beloved cockatoo. He can talk and has huge vocabulary.

Would you believe he's been with the family for the last 34 years. My mom-in-law would say the he can even outlive us.

He calls me "Rubie, Rubie, Rubie" whenever he sees me at the window of our bedroom.

He would continue talking ... "how are you stupid?" ... what's your problem?
Later he would say "I LOVE YOU!!!" In the end he would say "GOOD BYE, JAKE!"

This is our routine everyday when I see him and my day is not complete without seeing him.

At parties, he is the centre of attention. He would dance for you when you sing "Happy Birthday to you!" When Sonny opens his bottle of beer he would go to him a have a drink of beer too!

If you feed him, he would say "Thank you!"

You cannot help but fall in love with him completely.

Unfortunately, when Sonny came home last 4th April, he saw a python inside Jake's cage. He called for Jake but he is no where to be found. Sonny brokedown into tears when he realized that the Jake was eaten by the snake.

Like a member of our family, we all mourned for Jake. Everyone in the family came to our house last Easter Sunday and gathered to mourn his death. We all shed our tears for him. We all felt his loss in our lives.

One thing we did realized though, we should never take each other forgranted. Like Jake, we might think they will always be there but when they're gone, we realized a deep feeling of loss!

Let's be kind to another, learn to forgive and forget. Be generous in giving each other our love, care and understanding. These won't cost us anything, they're free but would be valuable to those who receives it. Don't hesitate, do it now because tomorrow may be too late!"

GOOD BYE JAKE! WE LOVE YOU VERY MUCH!

Here's the python snake that took our Jake. That bloody snake!

Jeep Muster!

Sonny and I joined the Jeep Muster last March 30th and April 1st. All Jeep owners came together to venture a 4-Wheel-Driving quest. We just joined the beginners group which I considered very challenging already. It was great fun!
Leo Muller (chatting here with Sonny) was the biggest Jeep dealer in Australia. He sponsored the event and paid for everything. He just requested all participants a donation for Mater Hospital's Children Foundation.

Beautiful Brisbane

I'm like Jessica who fell in love with NY. I feel the same way with Brisbane.
Lunch time is my highlight for the day. I would dash off to smell the fresh air of the city. With my digital camera, I would take beautiful shots of my favorite places and with special interest on the old buildings vs the new ones.
Here are some of the pics .... and more to come.

Celebrate Love Weekend

We attended Celebrate Love weekend last March 17 & 18. We were about 20 plus married couples. Some are just starting the journey of their married life up to those who are still in that wonderful relationship for the last 34 years.
One couple we met shared that they were married for more than 20 years. They shared that they love each other more than now than ever before!
It was wonderful experience! We learned not only from the Facilitators but the participants as well.
